Engaged!! :)

The happy couple: Dave & Regina

How excited I was to hear the news this morning that Dave asked my dear sis, Regina, to marry him last night!  The excitement began for me earlier this week when I got a chance to talk to Dave and knew he had plans to ask her!  And now... the planning and preparation go into full swing!
Thank you, Lord, for all You've done to accomplish this!  May You be glorified through it all!

There have been 2 wonderful weekends of adventure to celebrate my turning 26 years old...
The first was spent the first weekend of November with two of my best friends in Cali, and the second with one who has been my best friend since... well.. I can remember.  This entry is dedicated to my darling mother, who puts up with my lack of posting quite well.  :)

We had fun trying on some dresses from different decades! :)

I was delighted to find a kitchen in Retroville!

Us enjoying the wharf..  The sunset that night was beautiful!!

I'm thankful I got to spend the day with 2 of my best friends: Rachel & Crystal!

Birthday Weekend in NYC/D.C.

Happy birthday to me!
Regina made heart-shaped brownies, and Dave included me in the flowers with a single rose.

No matter where we go, we always remember where we're from...

Aren't we amazing?!?

I'm a pretty good tracker.  Then again, I should be.

“The…conclusive evidence of our wishing or willing to do good to another” wrote Jonathan Edwards, “is, to do it.” He goes on: “In every case nothing can be plainer, than that the proper and conclusive evidence of the will, is the act…for whatever we truly desire, we do thus seek.”

It's hard to believe it's been more than a month since I've last written.  It proves that life does fly by quickly...  Some pictures from my life:

The ladies who were at Resolved.  As a way to start the day together, we went to coffee two of the mornings at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.  It was great to be there again, as I only get to go when I'm in Arizona.

This weekend, I spontaneously headed off to Vista, CA (near San Diego) to spend some time with some friends that I met during my time in Arizona.  Ron moved to Cali around the time I moved to Colorado.  We'd been trying to plan a time to hang out since I got here in January, and finally... we did!  It was fabulous to also be able to hang out with Tim Westbrook, too!  Here's a picture of us after we enjoyed a lunch of sushi! :)

Another highlight of the weekend was running along the beach.  This week the long run was 7 miles.  It was great to enjoy the beauty of God's creation and the presence of a friend that I rarely get to see.  It was a delight!  Here's a picture of us after we'd finished:

Guess which is which! :)

Friday night was also a special night, as we celebrated with Shimron.  He passed his OT exam, which means for us... another good worker on our team!  A couple of pictures from the celebration:

Shimron!  He's sooo happy! :)

Shannon's mom was here visiting, so she came along!  It was fun to have her!  Shannon is an OT, too.

Me, Eric (PT traveler--he's sooo much fun!), Jennifer (Speech Therapist)

Christina (COTA traveler), Meredith (PT), and me

Well, that sorta sums up my life for now... except for the things that I've been thinking about and what I've been feeling.  Maybe next month we'll get to that!  :)

Blessings!

I'm sitting here on the couch, spending a little time before I go to the Resolved Conference.  I was trying to find a substitute for my Sunday school class (4 year olds) and was calling down the list of subs.  I got really discouraged because either people have plans for Father's Day, or they are already substituting for another teacher.  One dear person was sub-ing during 2 of the services and said if I couldn't find someone, she'd be willing to try to get up early for my class.  How wonderful!
I have been thinking about how in one circumstance in the Old Testament the Lord commanded the people of Israel to go out to battle singing, "The Lord is good, His mercy endures forever..." As the people obediently and joyfully sang on their way to the battle, God set up land mines (my words) for the enemies and I think that most or all of the enemies were destroyed or had fled by the time the Israelites got there!   I feel as if today has had some small battles.  As I was sitting there discouraged about the lack of a substitute for my class, I began to cry.  Silly girl!
I opened up my Bible to John 18:4-8.   I love this passage!  It  really shows how incredibly powerful the name of Jesus is (and He himself)!  The soldiers in the garden say that they have come looking for Jesus of Nazareth.  When He answers, "I am He", they all fall to the ground!  Crazy amazing!  It just served to remind me of how incredible is the God who calls me his own!  That isn't even a snippet of his power, either!  It was good to be reminded!
Then, I returned to the present situation of finding a sub.  I thought again of the people singing as they went to battle and began to look through Nehemiah in order to find the passage, because it's so awesome, too!  As I was perusing, my phone rang!  It was my friend Ashley from small group, whom I had called regarding subbing.  And she is willing!  Praise God!  It was good to hear about how God's at work in the life of one of her friends, too!
Well, soon I shall be on my way to Palm Springs, Lord willing.  I feel as if my heart has been refreshed with these remeberences of the Lord and his provision!
A few pictures from my time in Colorado:

Alex n Kate:
Kate wanted t.p. on her ears like Alex, even though Alex's was to keep her ears from getting too hot! :)

Alex: the finished product! :)

Well, the call has come and I must away!  May your weekend be blessed!  :)
